5 Most Controversial Changes Made In The Harry Potter Movies
Harry Potter is one of the most famous franchises in the world. The Harry Potter film series was originally originated from the seven books of Harry Potter. But there were some major changes made in the film. Which disappointed the Harry Potter books lovers and even led to the controversies.
So below is the list of top most controversial changes made in the Harry Potter movies.
5) Harry and His Mother’s Eye
Lily and Harry’s eye having same eye color was one of the most important parts of the story. In the movie, we can even see many characters saying Harry is like his father but has the eyes of his mother. And it was also one of the reasons why Snape hated to see Harry. As Lily was his lifelong love.
In the books, it was constantly mentioned that Lily and Harry had “Green color eye”. While in the movies Ellie Darcey-Alden (who plays young Lily) had a brown color eye and Daniel Radcliffe’s( who plays Harry) has a blue color eye. I know the color is not a necessary element. But still if not green then they could have used another color but same.
4) Harry and Ginny Kiss
After long years of flirting we finally to see a kiss between Harry and Ginny in The Half-Blood Prince. But instead of being a romantic scene it feels a bit awkward and sad.
Whereas in the books, Harry and Ginny share first passionate kiss after a glorious Quidditch game win against Slytherin. They kiss in front of everyone in the Gryffindor common room. Which kicks starts there romance.
In the books, Ginny is portrayed more fiercer as compared to the movies.
3) No Marauders Backstory
One of the most important part of the story was deleted from the movies. And it was not explaining the backstory of the Marauders in the Prisoner of Azkaban.
The movie lacked in explaining the connection between the Marauders, Sirius, and Harry’s father James. As they created a map which shows Harry where everyone is at the castle.
In the books, when Harry finds out that Marauders were actually his father friends with their backstory. And the relationship between the werewolf Remus Lupin and the traitor Peter Pettigrew. If we add up all these pieces it makes up a very important part of the story. Instead, the most important was deleted from the movie.
Peeves wasn’t the most integral part in the books. But still, there was a presence of him. Whereas in the movies he was completely ignored.
If you are not familiar with Peeves then let me explain. Peeves was poltergeist who haunted the halls of Hogwarts. His presence was a welcome dose of relief during the darker times at Hogwarts.
1) The Death Of Voldemort
The final battle between and Harry and Voldemort was a bit changed in the movies. In the film, when Harry kills Voldemort once and for all. Voldemort turns into ash which floats away in the air.
Whereas in the books it’s completely different. Instead of turning into ash, he falls on the ground like any other dead body.
